As the founder of HireHype.com, I am passionate about helping entry-level individuals to achieve their career and academic goals. With over 10 years of experience in corporate finance, working for companies like Disney, Fox, and Amgen, I have developed a strong background in financial analysis, strategy, and business development. I have also acquired a deep understanding of the education industry, having completed my MBA in Finance from Pepperdine University and my Master's in Education from Columbia University. My Story
There's a common narrative as a university student: graduate, land a dream job, and watch your career take off. But my reality, like many others, wasn't quite so smooth. Fresh out of college during a tech recession, the job market felt like a brick wall. With no internships on my resume, it was even tougher.

It took time and a lot of hustle to get my foot in the door. I took on unrelated jobs, from selling office supplies door to door to doing admin work at a bakery. It wasn't what I studied, but it kept the bills paid. I was able to get a part time job doing an accounting audit at a Tony Roma’s restaurant franchisee, making sure that employees are not changing tips. This led me to my first full time role at Cost Plus World Market, where I was responsible for auditing the retail stores operation package, which includes sales reports, and other data.
Determined to create a different future, I enrolled in an MBA program. This time, armed with internships at The Walt Disney Company, I thought I was prepared. Imagine my surprise when, after the internship ended, landing a full-time role at Disney proved just as challenging. Over 100 applications, only 3 interviews. It was a wake-up call. Even with relevant experience, the job hunt can be brutal. Rejections pile up, and negativity can easily creep in. Was it me? Was my resume bad?

The truth is, there are many factors beyond your control. Roles get closed, competition is fierce, and sometimes, someone with a bit more experience gets the edge.
